Maa Eagles School Building Fund

Your donations provide support for public boarding schools, which offer many advantages and are prohibitively expensive for most Maasai families. Due to underfunding, overcrowding, and a 100:1 student-teacher ratio, the quality of education in rural schools isn’t adequate to prepare our girls to advance to secondary school. For the exceptional girls, who pass the national test and graduate from primary school, all secondary schools in Tanzania boarding schools and the annual cost are prohibitive for most Maasai. However, if economically feasible, sons are always given the priority to attend.

The importance of your donation is to enable Maa Eagles to support as many Maasai girls in primary and secondary school, and college with all their school fees and any other requirements needed. There are two terms in a year. The first term begins in January, while the second term begins around June.

We are currently able to only support 30 girls in primary and 30 girls in secondary. Each term, we require about $15,000 US dollars for the fees and requirements. For the entire year, that amounts to $30,000 US dollars. Our college girls' fees vary, but amount to an approximate annual fee of $1300 US dollars per student.

Use of Funds

Your generous donations are being used in supporting the girls in everything they need to be successful including school fees, boardings, books, uniforms, shoes, school supplies (pencils, paper, calculators, etc.), and personal hygiene items.

We also have a fund that is specifically set aside to help build a school. This way we can serve more students and reduce the cost of utilizing private boarding schools. Our reach and impact can be greater!
